Eastwork is a free government funded (DEEWR) not-for-profit organisation specialising in assisting people with a disability, injury or medical condition in finding and maintaining employment.
We have been running our innovative disability programs in the Inner East, Southern and South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne since 1991. We have a pool of qualified, experienced and reliable clients, who are screened carefully prior to acceptance into our service. Employers - What We Can Offer You
Training
We offer on-the-job training assistance if required for as long as it takes the employee to achieve the required productivity levels.
Support
Once the employee is working independently, we will continue to follow up on the progress of the employee to ensure they are maintaining productivity. If additional training or counselling is required we will facilitate this immediately.
Trial Period
A trial period can be negotiated to enable an initial assessment of suitability. Our aim is to provide you with the best person for the job. If the initial candidate is not suitable, Eastwork will provide you with other candidates.
Help for Existing Employees with a Disability
You may already have some existing employees who are struggling in the job as a result of an injury, medical condition or disability. We can offer an assessment, trainers to assist the employee with training and counselling until such time as the employee is performing the necessary tasks to your complete satisfaction.
Wage Incentive
A one off incentive payment is occasionally offered to assist with the initial training of the employee. The amount varies between $500 to $1500 and is dependent on the employee working a minimum of 8 hours a week and completing 13 weeks of employment.
