What type of disabilities do your jobseekers have?
Eastwork is a generic service that assists people with a disability, injury or medical condition to access and maintain award wage employment. Our jobseekers have diverse skill sets and are placed in a variety of industries.

Are there any fees involved?
Eastwork is a not for profit employment service that is funded through the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) and as such are able to provide a free service to our clients and employers.

How much do we pay a jobseeker through your service?
Eastwork assists its' clients to access and maintain award wage employment. Given the diverse nature of our jobseekers, the majority of our clients work at full productivity.
In the event that a job seeker is not achieving that standard, a productivity-based wage may be implemented. This is called a Supported Wage. An independent assessor will assess the jobseekers productivity rate against the industry benchmark and provide an assessment of their productivity. For example, if a jobseeker is assessed as having a productivity rate of 70% then the employer can legally pay 70% of the relevant award.

What training is available?
Where necessary, Eastwork can provide on the job site training and support to assist the job seeker in learning the specifics of the role. Eastwork can also provide additional training as the jobseekers role evolves.

What happens if the jobseeker needs special equipment to carry out the duties of their role?
Eastwork can assist an employer to access special or adaptive equipment through the Worksite Modifications Scheme. This DEEWR funded initiative reimburses an employer for expenses incurred for equipment for the employee to carry out their role. Eastwork can provide further information regarding this service as required.

Are there any government subsidies available?
Eastwork are able to provide a wage incentive to an employer willing to provide a work opportunity for 8 hours or more per week. This wage incentive is payable after 13 weeks of continuous employment.

Eastwork are able to provide information on other subsidies available. E.g. Workplace Modification and Supported Wage System.

How is Eastwork funded?
Eastwork's employment program is funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. We are a not for profit organization and do not charge any fees to our clients to employers.
