Frequently Asked Questions
Is attending training like being back at school?
If you have not been in a classroom for a long time, it is going to feel like you have gone back to school. We all have different feelings about what that was like. Adult learning is different. We will mix the day up with lots of activities where you learn through doing and drawing on experiences. Asking questions is fine, as we encourage active involvement in the class. If you need to get up and get a coffee you can, you are treated as an adult.
Will I get a job by doing this training?
We deliver pre-employment and job club programs. These courses are designed to help you with the general skills we all need in getting a job. There are also workshops that help give you a specific skill you would need in the workplace, like how to work safely with food.
Most of our courses carry some form of assessment. We like to mention that upfront so you are fully aware of what is expected of you. (Refer to our course brochures) It is not like going to school. Assessment helps us to understand how much you have understood and learnt. Assessment may include written answers, involvement in class activities, group assignments or observation.
Our training is currently being delivered from our Cheltenham, Camberwell and Frankston sites.
