The course will focus on providing you with the foundation knowledge in nutrition principles required to succeed in the industry. A specialised certification in sports nutrition is also possible. Certificates and short courses in nutrition usually have no entry requirements.
Diploma
Undertaking a Diploma of Nutrition Medicine will provide you with an in-depth understanding of all aspects of nutritional medicine. You will learn about diet, supplements, natural vitamins, minerals and amino acids and how these can be used to prevent illness and achieve optimal health. The two-year course includes practical experience in a clinic or private practice, providing you with invaluable real-life skills to get you ready to step into the workforce as a qualified practitioner.
Undergraduate course
A Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Nutritional Medicine will have you develop the required knowledge to practice as a qualified and accredited nutritionist or dietitian. The three-year course includes practical experience in a clinic or private practice and has a range of study mode options. You will study food, nutrients and how the diet affects a person’s health and well-being. You will gain knowledge on advising clients about diet and prescribing nutritional supplements to assist in the treatment of various health conditions. From biological and social sciences to food packaging and public health, you will learn the required skills and knowledge to educate clients on how to achieve optimal health and wellness.
